Zurich Global Choice

Global Choice is available on a single or joint ownership basis.

The life insured can be any of the following:

• Own life: where you’re the policy owner and the life insured
• Joint lives, first death: where you and another are both the policy owners and the lives insured
• Life/lives of another: where you’re the policy owner but someone else is the life insured

If the life insured dies, the amount payable depends on:

• Whether the additional life cover benefit was chosen
• The age of the life insured at the start of the policy (or the age of the oldest life insured, for joint policies)
• And how long the policy has been held

If additional life cover wasn’t chosen, the oldest life insured was 49 or younger at the start of the policy, and the policy has been held for less than 10 years, the amount paid out will be the greater of the policy value or the total premiums less any withdrawals.

If additional life cover wasn’t chosen, the oldest life insured was 50 or older at the start of the policy and/or the policy has been held for less than 10 years, the amount paid out will be the policy value.

If additional life cover was chosen, the oldest life insured was 49 or younger at the start of the policy and the policy has been held for less than 10 years, the amount paid out will be the greater of the additional life cover amount, the policy value or the total premiums paid less any withdrawals.

If you choose this add-on, the additional life cover amount will be fixed at the start of the policy for an amount equal to 5 times the yearly equivalent of your regular premiums (up to a maximum of USD 250,000, GBP 167,000 or EUR 200,000).

If you choose this add-on, Zurich will pay your regular premiums to your policy if you’re unable to work due to disability. This benefit is available to the life insured who pays the premiums, provided they’re under 60 when the benefit is added to the policy.
